It's honestly a piece of art, and it saddens me that people try overlooking this drama just because it was popular and was written by Kim Eun Sook. Even Goblin was a wonderful acclaimed story that was a great follow-up project to Descendants Of The Sun.
The music was wonderful, the acting (with the 4 leads) were outstanding, the cinematography was gorgeous, the storyline was filled with very interesting ideals done in a great and wonderful way, and the romance felt just so real.
Then there's a love triangle, and also a cheesy romance when the romance actually does happen.
DOTS however, starts the relationship and tests' it throughout the show.
Yeah there were cheesy moments, but the relationships themself were just so undeniably real.
I hate romance stories in kdrama's because they literally go no where until the last few episodes of the drama.
The only problem with DOTS as a drama (in my opinion), is that once you watch DOTS (And Goblin also), it's hard to watch other normal dramas and stick with them fully because their storylines just aren't as captivating, and you realize there's a big script quality drop with the romance, scenes, and storyline.
Overall, just loved the action, adventure, intensity, humor, different kind of love story Most of us who watch this late would feel this drama is so overrated. So it's reasonable to you guys for not enjoying it. The concept and storyline is beyond imagination, not the typical romantic comedy just like The Heirs.
Both 1st and 2nd lead story are interesting although i love 2nd lead more.
With anime, you get your usually dose of Light Novel adaptions where a (nobody) boy finds himself in another world where he had to fight along with people he meets, or a failed idol show, or a school slice of life series that has no OTP. I do think the acting could be better with the people who weren't Korean (I mean, let's be real here.
With kdrama's, you get your usual dose of boring slice of life stories with little to no drama that run for over 16-20 episodes, when the show can easily be condensed into 3 episodes, and people start losing interests after episode 5. Some of them were just plain out terrible), but the storyline itself is just so humane.
